Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

It’s Fall, y’all!

While I’m sad to see the sun start to disappear more and more, I can’t help but take in all the beauty around me. Yes, it also means that winter is a up next, but after having lived in the south for ten years, I’m happy to have seasons back. Six straight months of 100 degree Texas heat gets old really quickly, but I sure do miss all that sunshine. Growing up in Buffalo left me with a deficit so I can never get enough of it.

Speaking of fall, I was inspired by all the pumpkin flavors this season brings, and I got to thinking, what about a pumpkin smoothie? What was born was one of the best smoothies I’ve ever had- I know many have come before mine😉

Quick, tasty, and an easy way to get a good plug of building blocks- protein, fat, carbs, plus some perks in the way of fiber and potassium.

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

·       ~1 cup unsweetened almond milk or even just water

·       1/2 cup plain, pumpkin puree

·       1/4 cup oats- optional

·       1 scoop vanilla plant protein

·       1 cup frozen banana slices (fresh is fine if that’s all you have)

·       1/2-1 tsp pumpkin spice (I go heavy)

·       Spoonful of almond butter

·       Ice to your liking

Ta da!  Enjoy!
